Meet a Member: Margie
Hello! My name is Margie. I live in Auckland and I am now semi-retired.

So nice to speak with you, Margie! I'd love to hear about what sparks the most joy in your life?

 

I have four grandchildren who I see regularly and love spending time with.

 

What are your go-to healthy habits?


I have always been moderately active but not super fit. I walk regularly and play a social round of golf most weeks.

 

I have done reformer Pilates 1-2 times a week for many years but have changed to mat Pilates in the last 3 years.

 

How long have you been doing Pilates By Bel and how has it impacted you?


Now in my 60s I have begun to notice loss of strength, flexibility and balance, and also various twinges in my neck, shoulder and hip.

 

I started Pilates By Bel 15 months ago and try to do a 15 to 20 minute stretch/mobility class most days, as well as a longer full body Pilates once a week.

 

I have noticed significant improvement in my posture, core strength and flexibility, and far fewer twinges. This is particularly noticeable when looking after the young grandchildren!

 


Do you have any fave PBB exercises or classes?


The Custom collection, Pilates for Legends, is my go-to but I really like the Pilates for Beginners series and all the stretches too.

 

For me, I love being able to fit in a short stretch class before work and I find it very time efficient not having to go to a studio class.

 

It is also great for travelling away from home.

 

Advice to anyone unsure about online Pilates?


For anyone considering starting Pilates By Bel, I would recommend trying the shorter gentler stretch and mobility classes and the Pilates for Beginners series.
