I'm Libby Robinson and I live in Auckland, New Zealand with my husband Brad and our four kids, Ralph (8), Margot (6), Sophie (4) and Isobel (2).
I am mostly a stay at home mum! We homeschool our kids, so they fill my days with fun and chaos. I am also a photographer, currently taking on a limited amount of weddings and family photo shoots. I enjoy running my business and using it as my own creative outlet.
Hi, Libby! Wow, mummy of 4 – sounds busy!! Tell us a little about your personal hobbies and interests.
I love getting creative in a number of different ways – painting, baking, photography and spending time in nature.
I am very interested in learning to raise our family well; aiming to nourish their mind and body with a happy family life, wholesome books, free time outdoors, deep friendships and creativity.
What sparks the most joy in your life?
I think for me, most joy is sparked when I show up as the best mum and wife that I can be. It’s obviously hard when you are stretched in so many ways, but when I take the time to nourish and take care myself (one of those being daily movement with PBB!) it really helps me to be the best version of myself for my family.
What are your go-to healthy habits?
1. Aiming to get up early most days, before the kids (also trying to not let myself get annoyed when they interrupt me haha) to do my PBB workout and have some quiet time to reflect and get ready for the day ahead.
2. A nourishing, high protein breakfast before coffee! Keep that blood sugar and hormones in check.
3. I limit my screen time. If I find myself scrolling I stop and choose to do something productive or that’ll actually nourish my mind or body.
How long have you been a Pilates By Bel member?
I joined in September last year after watching and deliberating for many months! Prior to Pilates By Bel, my exercise routine was almost non-existent, other than walks with the kids.
What impact has Pilates had on you?
I feel SO much better. PBB has made me so much more aware of my body and how I feel. It’s like I’ve made myself a priority again and the whole family is better for it. I feel much more capable physically and more confident.
Fave PBB exercises and classes?
I just love it all!! I absolutely love the Weekly Plans, that I can just not think and fully trust what Annabel has planned. Or if I want to change it up, it’s so easy to flick through and choose a class more aligned to how I feel that morning.
I love how all of the exercises are different, so you never get bored. The classes are so dynamic and when I do them I feel like I am really looking after myself.
I think it’s the perfect exercise as a mum, as it’s not overwhelming and draining, but rather its energising and nourishing movement, which allows me to be so consistent! That has been game changing.
